After Palash Sen’s theme song Dilli Meri Jaan and A.R. Rahman’s Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto, it’s bhangra king Daler Mehandi’s turn to welcome teams and tourists with song Khel Le.

Punjabi pop singer-composer Daler Mehndi sang the song titled Khel Le with Bhangra beats which he has specially composed for the Commonwealth Games

He unveiled the song on Thursday, performing live in front of chief minister at a function where the government launched its new tourism website.

Mehndi said he made the song “free of cost for India” just out of love for the country.

Ms Dikshit liked the song so much that she demanded the singer to perform it once again, to which he humbly obliged.

“I was asked to prepare the song two-three days back. I have made a lot of effort in this short time and I hope people like this song,” Mehndi said.

The song brings out the festive spirit of the Games. We hope foreign tourists would also enjoy it.

2. m dying to hear this new CWG song. I m hoping that, since canadians love Punjabi English mixed songs, this new CWG song would be enjoyable for them. Btw m very disappointed with AR Raheman, working for outsiders, specially when we got a best opportunity to show our new Bharat. (m Hindu but don’t like to call my country, Hindustan, it’s racist)

8. @canada…..it is not called hindustan because of hindus but because this region was ‘ HIND Region’ which is is derived from the Iranian equivalent of Indo-Aryan Sindh……..And yes I too am waiting to hear this song. Hope it has lot of beats which is the main ingredient of every punjabi song……..
   AR Rehman’s song is good too but then it should have more beats. Cause when the song will be played in a stadium (or anywhere), its the loud music that stirs the soul. Words are good but they fail to go inside your skin. Music is sublime, just gets in your body and becomes a part of you. …Rehman has edited it a little and I am sure it ll be able to make the impact.
