Though I salute the great Shri Rahman, Oscar Winner and making me India proud, I am totally disappointed his songs for the CWG. No spirit, enthusiasm and electrifying effect generate from the song. Preparation and compose appears to be messy and hasty. I saw the video, the background girls and boys dancing the tune, appear to be confused as to the steps forth. When we are taking the world and competing with the other countries, we expect to do more.

Though I salute the great Shri Rahman, Oscar Winner and making me India proud, I am totally disappointed his songs for the CWG. No spirit, enthusiasm and electrifying effect generate from the song. Preparation and compose appears to be messy and hasty. I saw the video, the background girls and boys dancing the tune, appear to be confused as to the steps forth. When we are taking the world and competing with the other countries, we expect to do more

But it seems the CWG theme song which is composed and sung by Rahman – says that he hasn’t talent of composing a good song like ‘Waka Waka’ – theme song for FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup … Frankly speaking, everyone is socked after releasing this theme song – this sounds so bad .. i cant say in words. In fact, he has composed the worst song ever….this song will take DOWN the country’s national pride into the drain!

Rahman has set the bar so high for himself that this time he couldn’t outdo himself. This is an excellent track for any other artist but not that good from Rahman. Waka Waka and Wavin Flag were much better. Considering these are the commonwealth games the song should have been predominantly in English. Being patriotic is good but to attract international audiences you needed this song to hit the top of most charts. Rahman has done much better with Bollywood soundtracks and Slumdog Millionaire. Yuva’s Dhaka Laga Baka was an adrenaline rush, similarly maa tujhe salaam. I hope Palash Sen does better.

I am an avid music lover and have great regard for AR Rahman as a musician. I beg to differ as the CWG theme song is more like a lullaby which will make the nation and the world sleep. The line ‘India bula liya’ is grammatically wrong. I think this song suits any bollywood movie like Chak De India. My humble request to Mr. AR Rahman is to quickly compose another CWG theme song which has an acceleration and fire leading to taking the crowd on their heels. I am well wisher of Mr. Rahman. He is the best musician as well as a very high class singer I have ever heard. But this CWG theme is not upto his level. I think he was pressurised to release the song in short period. I think a musiciain should have all the feedom when to release a music or when to not.
The song does need a bit of fine tuning,eg.it should be energentic from the beginning only.BUT I think, the criticism this song is going through is not justified because yeh utna bhi bura nahi hai… all this is probably because todays generation is blindly getting more and more inclined towards western culture and traditions…angrezi gaane bhale hi samajh na aaye magar pasand zaroor karenge aajke bacche!!!!!english being the universal language- waka waka zyada popular rahega..hindi does not have that much presence in this world…on our side,we INDIANS can do our bit by saath mein ye gunguna ke aur games mein apna surrort de ke…

the lyricist should have( somehow) used Bharat(Varsh) instead of India. The organisers should have given the task to someone with strong Indian classical background. Shouting(shrieking) music is not Indian, let alone the energetic. With all other lapses (in CWG) we have to bear it. HR Sethi.
One of the worst songds by ARRahman. Lyric doesn’t make any sense — not even grammatically correct. What does “yeh India bula liya” mean? Does it mean “yeh India bula raha”?
Also I don’t understand why he insists on singing. It’s definitely not one of his strengths.

great disappointment RAHMAN bcoz i’m not going deeply in to your song but onething you had to remember before you compose a music it’s a common wealth game and host country is ‘INDIA’ and you are done a song like western culture with rap and rock riffs (remember in worldcup football shakira made a great song that representing africa).
